On Stage at OCP

Through upholding high ethical standards, demonstrating respect for all and consciously working to provide diverse representation, OCP is committed to creating an inclusive and safe environment in which all community members feel a sense of belonging and does not discriminate in casting practices on the basis of an individual’s ethnicity, age, gender, physical and cognitive ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, country of origin or other factors. Omaha Community Playhouse is committed to diverse and inclusive casting.

Artist Stipend Policy

Onstage performers and crew members who work every performance of a production (ages 19 and older) are provided a set fee for each production in which they participate. Fees will vary based on the length of the production’s run and will remain uniform among performers and crew members within a production.

Background Check Policy

The safety of Omaha Community Playhouse staff, volunteers, students and patrons is a top priority of the organization. To reduce the risk of incidents threatening a person’s safety on the premises, OCP abides by a background check policy. Qualified personnel for background checks includes staff members, teaching artists, artistic personnel, performers, orchestra, backstage crew and dressers, Board of Trustees, box office volunteers, seasonal employees (including but not limited to Caravan performers, road manager, road crew, tour manager, musicians and chaperones) and phone volunteers. All performers offered a role will be expected to complete an authorization for a background check at the time of the offer. Performers will not be asked to complete a background check form at their initial audition or callback. Contracts for each role are pending a background check.

Please note, if the background check authorization is flagged, a committee will convene for discussion on a case-by-case basis, the applicant will be contacted with any additional questions and to be informed of the final decision.
