Late Nite Catechism
Howard Drew Theatre
Author: Vicki Quade & Maripat Donovan
Friday, July 11 - Sunday, August 3, 2008

Call it Loretta Young meets Carol Burnett. This is part catechism class, part stand-up routine. It’s an interactive comedy now in its 15th year in Chicago.

The New York Times calls it, "hilarious, well-written and inspired." Jeffrey Lyons from TV’s Sneak Previews calls Late Nite Catechism "something to savor and enjoy....one of the most intimate, rewarding shows in town."

Judy Reinert of the Kane County Chronicle states, "Far funnier than ‘Nunsense,’ Late Nite Catechism is a brilliant production in every way."

You, the audience member, are part of Sister’s class. She’ll take you back to the days of the Latin Mass, meatless Fridays, and remind you about that good old ruler across the knuckles!

Lite Nite Catechism continues to make people laugh their sins off!

Liberace: Music & Memories
Starring Wayland Pickard as Liberace
Friday, August 1- Sunday, August 3
Mainstage
Known for his incomparable piano skills, sparkling outfits and a genuine connection with the audience, Liberace was one of the most recognizable and beloved performers of the Twentieth Century. Pickard has performed with symphony orchestras throughout the world. The impression is complete with a three-hour prosthetic process created by Academy Award-winning make-up artist, Kevin Haney. The 90 minute show features well-known classical music, Broadway tunes, pop standards, and even “The Beer Barrel Polka” when “Mr. Showmanship” returns in Music & Memories.

Planned Giving
What’s “Planned Giving”?

You might have heard the phrase before, but what exactly is a “planned gift?” A planned gift is simply a gift that requires some planning before it is made. These gifts are popular because of the valuable tax benefits and/or income they can provide. Some of the ways you could make a planned gift to the Omaha Community Playhouse or Omaha Community Playhouse Foundation include: wills, life insurance, securities, retirement assets, trusts, annuities or real estate.

Wills are one of the easiest ways to make a planned gift. You can leave a specific sum, a specific asset, a percentage of the overall estate, or “whatever is leftover” after you have provided for your loved ones.  Studies indicate that only 20% of people take advantage of the tax savings available when naming charitable organizations in their wills.

If you would like more information about wills or any other type of planned gift, please contact Alena Furlong at 402-553-4890 ext. 127 or afurlong@omahaplayhouse.com. We’d be happy to work with you or direct you to appropriate professionals to ensure your needs are met. You should always consult your attorney or financial advisor for assistance in forming a plan of charitable giving that best suits your needs.
