Guest Artist to Headline 2007/2008 Season Finale
International opera star, Greg Ryerson, will grace the Playhouse Mainstage as a special guest artist in the 2007/2008 season spring musical South Pacific. Ryerson will perform the lead role of Emile De Becque. Ryerson, a Fremont, Nebraska native performed the same role at the Omaha Community Playhouse in 1988. It is with great pleasure that we welcome back this exciting and highly acclaimed vocal presence to Omaha and the surrounding area. Ryerson’s appearance is supported by the Peter Kiewit Foundation.

Kimberly Akimbo is our latest production in the Howard Drew Theatre and is a bittersweet comedy about a 16 year-old with a rare aging disease that has transformed her into an elderly woman. Kimberly is forced to deal with her dysfunctional parents and a scam-artist aunt, her own mortality and, most terrifying of all, the possibility of first love. Stage Right Art Auction
May 17 – June 16, 2007
This exciting annual event, sponsored by ACT II, is a silent art auction featuring works by local and regional artists. All proceeds from this event will go towards furthering the Playhouse’s goal of offering theatrical and artistic opportunities to every person in our community.
The Stage Right Art Gallery will be open for viewing and bidding here at the Playhouse from Thursday, May 17 through Saturday, June 16. Bidding will end during a closing reception before the June 16th production of Peter Pan.

The Omaha Community Playhouse will take part in the 2nd Annual Great Plains Theatre Conference. The multi-day event will "...continue to seek the embodiment of [Edward] Albee´s quest for an important, enduring discussion of theatre at the national level; to foster educational opportunities for developing playwrights and actors; and to bring serious theatre to new audiences, and thereby stimulate the appreciation and preservation of the theatre arts in our culture."
